It’s been a hot minute

Okay, so it’s been a while since I’ve written anything.

And with good reason!

I’ve been busy! While running my business I moved house, fell into a pit of anxiety and depression, got out of the pit, made new friends, started looking after my physical health and did a WHOLE LOTTA knitting throughout.

The house move was a little bit stressful. I thought I was doing a good job of holding it together but I fell apart.

It took a toll on me but it opened me up to look at what I needed to work on: self respect and self worth.

You know, small things to work on…😬

Fast forward to today and I’m feeling good. There are still some anxious days but much better than before.

Baby steps but I’m on my way.

I’ve met some amazing people this year and involved in some great events as a stall holder for Ratts, Tatts n’ Pinups organized by Kingpin Kuztums. Our last event for the year will be on New Years Eve. Details here

I finally looked after an old knee injury which involved a bit of rehabilitation with a physiotherapist.

Which led to another, older injury in my foot being tended to.

Things are much better after much intensive treatment. I also discovered I do not like acupuncture. It’s not the needles but the sensation in the muscles once the needles are removed that I dislike!

I’ve recently started training at a boxing gym. It’s been 15 years since I last trained with weights and boxing. My god have I missed it!! I’ve missed endorphins!! Endorphins are so good!! Wheeeeeeeeeee!!

I have eased into it because of the previous injuries but I feel like I’m at home when I’m pumping iron or punching a heavy bag! 💪🏼

Leg day? The 3 days after my first session I was wrecked. Couldn’t move without wincing 😖 y’all know what I mean!

I’ve picked up a knitting job! I’m a professional knitter now! So when I’m not working my business, I’m getting paid to knit! I’ve also worked on a number of commissions, a gift, and my never ending shawl in between because I don’t stop!

So what about my business here?

2 years in and I still love what I do. Wouldn’t change it for anything.

Helping women bring out their best self? Such an amazing feeling.

I want to thank all my supporters this year, you help me carry on and keep the passion alive.

I wish everyone the best for Christmas and may 2020 be your best year yet!

Who am I anymore?!

A lot has happened. A lot is going on. So what better way to procrastinate, let write about it!

We’re moving house, and soon! Do I want to sort through and pack all the things? No! But I have to.

This move is actually a good thing. It’s a massive upgrade for us. I’ll have an office space and won’t have to do my makeup or videos at the dining table anymore!

And I can start implementing all the things I learned at this years PIT Stop Marketing and Media Mavens, held in Melbourne 2 weeks ago.

Now, I can’t share what I learned but I can tell you it’s got the ball rolling for me to grow my business. I’m so lucky we get these trainings from corporate every quarter. They fill my cup and then some! I’m inspired to do all the things. Even get fit.

We made a video during the event for the #GitUpChallenge. I can’t say no to a challenge. I was in the front row dancing my heart out, as I do. On the playback, it opened my eyes. This sounds incredibly vain, but I did not like what I saw of myself. I finally saw myself from a different perspective. I’ll admit, it was hard to handle. Is that what I really look like? Not the person I portray in my selfies at all. I feel like a hypocrite.

Time to challenge myself to change my ways.

There was a makeup training day on Sunday just gone, led by a gorgeous gal I really admire. I was asked beforehand to get up and speak in front of 70 or so people, on a panel about doing the makeup artist certification, SeneBlends. In front of my peers and leaders. I couldn’t say no. I was quite flattered to be asked! Now, I’m terrible at public speaking, but I wasn’t nervous, I just got up there, answered a few questions and felt really good!

Who am I anymore?! I didn’t go completely blank and spoke confidently. Because I love what I do.

I have met so many incredible women along the way these past 21 months that have helped shape me into the person I am in this moment. I want to do the same for others.
